EVENT INFORMATION & RULES

WELCOME TO THE 9th ANNUAL
Intermountain Icebreaker High School & Jr High Invitational Rodeo
March 4th-7th, 2020
Golden Spike Event Center
1000 N. 1200 W. Ogden, Utah

 

All current NHSRA High School and Jr. High members are welcome to participate. *Memberships will be available for purchase at the event if needed. NHSRA Rules will be followed, unless otherwise stated.

Events for High School members will include:
Bareback, Saddle Bronc, Bull Riding, Barrels, Poles, Breakaway,

Goat Tying, Steer Wrestling, Tie Down and Team Roping

 

Events for Junior High members will include:

Jr Bareback (on ponies), Jr Saddle Bronc (on ponies), Jr Bulls, Jr Barrels, Jr Poles, Jr Boys and Girls Breakaway, Jr Boys and Girls Goat Tying, Chute Dogging, Jr Tie Down and Jr Team Roping.

Jr High Boys can do either Boys Breakaway OR Tie Down, not both!

NOTE: Junior High Members can choose to move up and enter High School Events except for the Rough Stock!


ALL EVENTS HELD IN INDOOR COVERED ARENAS!

High School Awards will be as follows:

  • Custom Saddles awarded to each event winner 

  • Buckles awarded to the top three placing in each go and the average

  • All Around Saddles and Buckles to the top Cowboy and Cowgirl.

  • Buckles to the Reserve Cowboy and Cowgirl 

Junior High Awards will be as follows:

  • Custom Buckles awarded to each event winner 

  • Buckles awarded to the top three placing in each go and the average

  • All Around Saddles and Buckles to the top Cowboy and Cowgirl.

  • Buckles to the Reserve Cowboy and Cowgirl

Stalls will be extra $10 per stall if not ordered in advance.
             No overnight tie ups.        

                
Entries will close on Feb. 19th!

NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN AFTER ENTRY CLOSING DATE!

Entries will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.

 

There will be two Go’s and a Championship Short Go Round in each division, High School and Junior High with the top 15 from each event.

THE $90 ENTRY FEE IS A SINGLE FEE THAT WILL COVER THE FIRST AND SECOND GO'S AS WELL AS THE SHORT GO FOR QUALIFIERS.


Event champions will be awarded on the average of all three Go’s

.

Optional Rodeo Jackpotting is available for a total of $60 which will be split between the 1st, 2nd, Short Go and Average.

100% of jackpot fees will be paid back. If entering the Team Roping jackpot, both partners must enter.

 

Event tickets will be sold at the door. Contestants will have free entrance.

           Adult  Season  $22     Child Season $10

 

**Any cancellations, prior to the entry deadline, must include a written doctor or vet slip and will be subject to a cancellation fee.

Additional Events

Separate Barrels, Poles, Tie Down, Breakaway, and Team Roping Jackpots will be held in conjunction with the rodeo as well as a Dummy Roping. Please see schedule for more information.

This event will be a tour stop qualifier for Junior High and High School contestants (Senior and Novice JRA Card Holders). Not only does it count for tour points, but the *top two contestants from Bareback and Saddle Bronc in each division events advance to the Mountain States Regional Finals to be held in the fall!!

This is one tour event that entries and prize payout will be coordinated by event host!!!

*Must carry a JRA tour card or obtain on or before event if wanting to advance to the Finals. click link below to get a JRA card.

This event will also be a tour stop qualifier for the

Leal's Jr Bull Riding World Finals.
